The Frustrating Reality About Chocolate and Sugar
You know the drill.
Your doctor says watch your sugar. Your nutritionist hands you a list of things to avoid. And right there at the top? Chocolate.
Not because chocolate itself is the enemy, but because most chocolate is loaded with it. A single serving of classic candy-coated chocolates packs 20+ grams of added sugar. That's more than many adults managing diabetes or prediabetes should have in an entire day.
So you try the alternatives. The "sugar-free" options at the pharmacy. The diet chocolate bars that taste like chalk. The ones sweetened with maltitol that send your stomach into revolt.
And eventually, you just stop trying. You tell yourself chocolate is off-limits now. Another thing you used to enjoy that's been taken away.
But here's what most people don't realize: the problem was never chocolate. It was the sugar, the artificial ingredients, and the low-quality substitutes.
"I'm diabetic and have been struggling to find something to satisfy my sweet tooth. I saw POINTS! and now I'm over the moon happy."

4 Things to Look for Before You Buy "Healthier" Chocolate
1. Low Sugar, Not Reduced Sugar
"Reduced sugar" can still mean 8-10g per serving. Look for the total sugar listed (ideally 1-4g) confirmed on the nutrition label. The sweetener matters too; avoid maltitol (known for GI distress) and artificial sweeteners like aspartame or sucralose.
2. Low Net Carbs (Under 5g)
Total carbs don't tell the whole story. Subtract fiber and sugar alcohols from the total carbs to get net carbs, that's what your body actually absorbs. Anything under 5g net carbs per serving is a strong choice for a sweet treat.
3. Real Chocolate Taste, No Aftertaste
The #1 complaint about lower sugar chocolate? It doesn't taste like chocolate. Stevia-only formulas often leave a bitter aftertaste. The best options use a blend of natural sweeteners (like prebiotic fiber, natural vanilla extract, and stevia extract) for a smooth, genuine dark chocolate flavor.
4. Clean Ingredients You Can Actually Pronounce
Skip anything with artificial colors and/or artificial flavors.
The best diabetic-friendly chocolates use plant-based ingredients, natural coloring from vegetables and spices, and much less processing than the traditional options on the market.
1. Zero Added Sugar, Not Just "Reduced Sugar"
"Low sugar" can still mean 8-10g per serving. Look for zero added sugars confirmed on the nutrition label.
The #1 complaint about sugar-free chocolate? It doesn't taste like chocolate. Stevia-heavy formulas often leave a bitter aftertaste. The best options use a blend of natural sweeteners (like erythritol and stevia extract) for a smooth, genuine dark chocolate flavor.
4. Clean Ingredients You Can Actually Pronounce

"But Is It Worth the Price?"
We hear this one a lot. And we get it; at $2.92 a pack for the 12-pack (or as low as $2.22/pack on the 36-pack), POINTS! costs more than the candy at the checkout counter.
But here's the thing: you're not comparing apples to apples.
That checkout-counter candy? It's either 20+ grams of sugar per serving or loaded with weird, cheap sugar alcohols. It's full of artificial ingredients & dyes. And it's the reason you would feel sick afterwards and have to say no in the first place.
POINTS! is a different category entirely. It's closer to a premium supplement than a candy aisle impulse buy...and most of our customers treat it that way.
Think of it this way: $2.22–$2.92 per bag is less than a daily coffee. And unlike coffee, it actually satisfies that chocolate/sweets craving without the sugar spike.
“Yes, it costs more than gas station candy. But it’s the first chocolate I’ve found that actually fits my lifestyle and diet needs. I’d rather pay a little more for something I can enjoy without regret.”

COMMON QUESTIONS
Does it actually taste like real chocolate?
This is our most common compliment. POINTS! Low Glycemic Chocolate Candies uses real unsweetened dark chocolate as the primary ingredient. Customers consistently say it tastes like "the real thing" and many compare it favorably to the candy-coated chocolates they grew up with, just without loads of sugar and artificial ingredients.
Will this spike my blood sugar?
These POINTS! Low Glycemic Chocolate Candies are formulated to be low glycemic, with 2-4g net carbs, high fiber, and very low sugar. Individual responses to food vary, so we always recommend monitoring as you would with any new food. Many of our customers are diabetic & report that POINTS! fits well into their daily routine.
Will the sweeteners cause stomach issues?
Our sweeteners were designed specifically to provide low glycemic sweetness without this issue...unlike xylitol or maltitol, which are most commonly linked to GI discomfort.
What sweeteners do you use?
Currently in our Low Glycemic Dark Chocolate Candies we use Stevia Extract & a Prebiotic Fiber that adds a little sweetness, both are naturally derived. (in our peanut candies we also use erythritol)
We do NOT use aspartame, sucralose, maltitol, or any artificial sweeteners.
Erythritol in our peanut candies is a sugar alcohol that doesn't raise blood sugar for most people and has zero calories. It's also less likely to cause digestive discomfort than maltitol.
Stevia comes from the stevia plant and has been used for food & medicinal purposes for hundreds of years. We use it in very tiny amounts.
Is this keto-friendly?
Yes. With 2-4g net carbs per pack, POINTS! Low Glycemic Chocolate Candies fits comfortably within most ketogenic diets.
What is your return policy?
If you don't love POINTS!, email tyler@hummii.com and we'll make it right...no hassle. That's our Happiness Guarantee.
How fast does it ship?
Most orders ship within 1-3 business days from our Florida warehouse. Insulated packaging is used with every order to give better protection against high heat.
Free shipping is available on orders over $45.
